KC's water map is a federation — big municipal systems on both sides of the line, county and district suppliers filling the fourteen-county sprawl — and the crossings run constantly: transmission under widening arterials, force mains chasing the growth arcs, renewals beneath streets the stockyards era built. We pull fused HDPE and fusible PVC on profile, fusion certs in the submittal, testing to the owner's standard, in whichever state the owner sits.
The metro's topography gives water work real vertical range — bluff-top pressure zones stepping down to river-flat mains — and grade-critical shots get rod-by-rod confirmation, because a profile drilled through a limestone bench is as permanent as profiles get. Alignments HDD can't honestly hold get flagged at scope.
Bottoms work adds the alluvium program: shored, pumped pits in the wet flats, ballast on the pull, and fluid discipline run tight where the rivers' gravels carry real groundwater flow.
